Archie, teckel chocolat, portrait sur fond bois

It all started with Archie

A year ago, my partner and I adopted a little dachshund. His name is Archie, he's a kaninchen, and he fits in the crook of an arm.

The first few weeks were wonderful. The first purchases, much less so. We ordered a size S coat: it was baggy at the shoulders and stopped in the middle of his back. We took the size below: impossible to close around his chest. The harness, on the other hand, rode up his neck as soon as Archie pulled a little. Each time the same observation: these products are designed for an "average" dog, a compact dog, with a short back and normal legs. A dachshund is none of that.

A dachshund has a back twice as long as the average, a broad, low chest, short legs, and a fragile spine that needs to be protected. Clothing that doesn't follow this shape protects nothing at all. It rides up, it gets in the way, it ends up at the back of a closet.

So we looked for something better

We spent months comparing, measuring, ordering, returning. Little by little, a selection was formed, of pieces that really fit a sausage dog well. TECKEL club was born from this.

Every product on the site is chosen for this morphology and no other. The coats cover the back down to the hips. The harnesses distribute traction over the chest instead of pressing on the trachea. The sweaters are long enough not to ride up after three steps.

And because size is the real issue when you have a dachshund, each product page displays its measurement chart: chest circumference, back length, and a clear indication of what a kaninchen, miniature, or standard usually takes. Whatever their size and age, your dog should be able to run in what they're wearing.

What we will never do

Sell an accessory that constrains a dachshund's back, or that prioritizes look over comfort. A dachshund uncomfortable in their coat doesn't have the right coat, and we'd rather lose a sale than see you come back disappointed.

Archie dans un panier en osier

Archie tests everything before you do. He approves, or he sulks. Both happen.
